A REMINDER about household security has been issued by Darlington's North Road policing team following several recent burglaries.

Officers say that the majority of the burglaries in the North Road area have happened at properties that have been left insecure.

The team is urging residents to remember to lock their doors and windows so they do not become the next victim.

MARKET TITLE: Time is almost up for Darlington residents to vote for the town’s Sunday People’s Market to be crowned Britain’s favourite for the second year running.

The accolade, awarded by the National Association of British Market Authorities, was given to the Darlington event in 2013 after it won the most votes in the national scheme.

Voting for this year’s title closes on Monday (January 13) and votes can be registered at nabma.com/vote/
