A SCOOTER devotee is about to clock up 100 years.
When younger, Ann Storey, known as Nancy, would travel around the region with her husband Harry on a scooter they called Brenda.
They enjoyed holidays with Mrs Storey’s cousin Connie Jones and her family, their favourite destination being Whitby.
An only child from Sherburn Village, Mrs Storey left school aged 14 and married at 23, then moving to Carrville.
Although she had no children of her own, Mrs Storey doted on those of Mrs Jones.
Eventually Mr and Mrs Storey both moved into St Aidan’s Lodge care home, in Framwellgate Moor, Durham.
Sadly, Mr Storey has passed away.
Mrs Storey’s 100th birthday is Sunday (January 12) and a party is planned for Monday (January 13).
