A WOMAN had to be cut out of her car by firefighters after a two-car collision on West Auckland Road in Darlington.
The injured motorist was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital suffering whiplash after the crash involving a green Jaguar X-type and a silver BMW 118.
It happened at about 1.45pm this afternoon (Thursday, January 16) on a stretch of the A68 between Cockerton Green and Brinkburn Road.
Traffic built up between the centre of Darlington and the Junction 58 of the A1 while the road was closed for about two hours to allow police, paramedics and firecrews to deal with the incident.
