ANOTHER panel of an artwork celebrating a town’s steelmaking heritage has been lowered into place.
The Genesis Circle, designed by Cumbrian artist Chris Brammall and commissioned by regeneration body Project Genesis, is being created on the site of the former Consett steelworks.
The former blacksmith specialises in sculptural metalwork and he already has pieces on show across the country.
Designed to weather naturally like the Angel of the North, each of the one-ton steel panels depicts scenes of work in the original foundry.
The 18-metre diameter artwork is being installed in the newly-created Fawcett Park, just off the C2C coast-to-coast cycle route.
