VANDALS ruined the fun time of children after they went berserk in two adjoining school play areas.
They ransacked the sites in Malton over the weekend, extensively damaging play equipment, sheds, picnic benches and guttering.
And now police are appealing for anyone with information about the incidents, behind Malton primary and St Mary’s RC primary on Highfield Road, to get in touch.
PC Mark Rees said: “It is beyond belief what anyone would hope to gain from damaging small children’s play equipment and facilities.
“This has upset a lot of young children whose Monday morning back at school was ruined.
“I am appealing to anyone who has any information to come forward without delay.”
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Mark Reed or PC Jane Jones. Alternatrively email jane.jones@northyorkshire.pnn.police or to remain anonymous pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
