STUDENTS have been competing for a place in a prestigious hairdressing competition.
Around 70 students contested the Hair and Beauty Therapy contest at New College Durham, in Durham City, in the hope of being selected for the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) competition.
Winners included Atlanta Kellett, Lilli Hunter, Imogen Hearne, Rachel Adams, Ashleigh Jamison, Faye Weightman, Amy Winkworth, Lauren Richardson, Steph Hewitt, Zoe Spanton and Sarah Liddle.
Organiser Lindsay Deswert said: “This year’s in-house competition was excellent, with some outstanding work.
“It was very difficult to judge as the standard of work was very high.”
The regional contest will be held in Gateshead in February, ahead of the national final in Blackpool.
