Charity host tombola to help the aged in Darlington
CHARITY TOMBOLA Darlington Town Mission is holding a tombola on Friday February 7 from 10.30am at Morrisons in Morton Park. Tickets are 25p each and prizes include perfume and chocolates. All proceeds will go towards supporting Darlington’s elderly population.
TANGO BOOTCAMP International tangueros will lead a Tango bootcamp at the Voodoo Cafe on Skinnergate on Sunday February 23. The event will include master sessions dedicated to improving style and is open to dancers at all levels of experience. The event begins at 5pm. LIVE MUSIC Thatcher’s Bush and DJ Shag will entertain crowds at the Big Love Party, hosted at the Voodoo Cafe in Darlington on Saturday February 15. The event begins at 10pm but the bar will be open and serving cocktails from 7.30pm. Entrance is £5 on the door.
MUSIC SOCIETY Renowned harpist Lucy Wakeford and flute player Kathryn Thomas will perform at Darlington’s Dolphin Centre on Saturday February 15. The concert, hosted by the Music Society, will take place from 7.30pm. Tickets are £11 and can be booked by calling 01325 486555.
COAL HANDLING The North Eastern Railway Association will host a talk by David I Fraser called Battleship Wharf, Blyth – Coal Handling in the 21st Century at the Head of Steam Railway Museum in Darlington on Saturday February 15 from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. For more information, call 01325 460532.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY Karen Barker will give a talk on silver and metal conservation at the Bowes Museum when she speaks at a meeting of Darlington’s Historical Society on Wednesday February 19. The talk takes place at 7.30pm at the Friends Meeting House on Skinnergate.
