CHILDREN can get up close to creatures of the wild at a free library event during the spring school holiday.
Ferryhill Town Council has organised for Billingham-based Animal Story to visit Ferryhill Library on Thursday, February 20, 2pm to 3pm.
The session will suit three to 11-year-olds who will get to meet, handle and learn about animals that come out at night.
There are only 35 places available, tickets from the library.
A programme of 2014 school holiday events, organised by the council and library, will soon be available at Ferryhill Town Hall and library.
MAYOR’S CONCERT: A concert featuring Ferryhill Town Band will be held at St Luke’s Church Hall, Ferryhill, on Saturday, April 5, 7pm. Tickets are £5 from Ferryhill Town Hall. All proceeds will be donated to Mayor Ken Campbell’s appeal in aid of Ferryhill Town Band and St Luke’s Youth Groups.
CHARITY NIGHT: Drag act Tess Tickle and the Dragettes will provide the entertainment at a charity night at Leeholme Working Men’s Club, in Leeholme, near Bishop Auckland, on Friday, April 4. Tickets are £7 and available at the club, between 7pm and 11pm any night, or from Laura Dartnall, on 07455676262. Proceeds in aid of cancer charities.
EVENT CANCELLED: A disco party night due to be held at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Saturday, February 15, 7pm, has been cancelled.
