PRIMARY school pupils designed a new logo for a green-fingered community project in Teesdale.
Youngsters at Evenwood CofE Primary School and Ramshaw Primary School worked with the North Star Housing Group, which includes Teesdale Housing Association, to create a new design for the Growing Together project.
Their design brief had to reflect the ethos of the project, which aims to use public spaces to allow residents to grow their own fruit and vegetables and share the harvest.
Angela Rees, acting headteacher at Evenwood CofE Primary School, said: “We feel very proud to have taken part in the competition.
“All the children have come up with some great designs that capture the spirit of the Growing Together project.”
Reverend Claire Gibbs, curate of Cockfield, from the Growing Together steering group, added: “I was very impressed with all of the entries.
“Growing Together is about growing our community and providing sustainable, local, fresh food. These logos bring that to life.”
North Star Housing Group donated an iPod Nano and a visit to professional designers Press Ahead, in Sunderland, for the winners.
