BURGLARS forced their way into a building in the Sycamore Grove are of West Auckland and stole cash and two sets of car keys.

The vehicles, a dark grey Citroen C5 and a blue Jeep Cherokee, were subsequently taken from outside the property.

The incident took place between 7.30pm and 8pm on Monday, February 10.

DC Gareth Hodgson, of the Bishop Auckland Serious Crime Team, said: “I believe this crime may be linked to a number of other recent similar offences in the area.

“Historically the stolen vehicles have been used in the commission of further offences.”
