PEOPLE are being given the chance to quiz North Yorkshire’s police and crime commissioner.

Julia Mulligan will be holding a surgery at the Forum in Northallerton on February 24 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

The surgery is part of a rolling programme across the county, where residents can talk to Mrs Mulligan about her role, any policing or wider community safety issues.

“North Yorkshire is the safest place to live in England. However, statistics mean little if you’ve experienced crime or are afraid of crime,” said Mrs Mulligan.

“My principal aim is to drive down crime and anti-social behaviour yet further so that North Yorkshire residents can be safe and feel safe, protected by the most responsive service in England.

“These surgeries are an opportunity for local people to raise any individual concerns, priorities and positives and are an important way of making sure that North Yorkshire Police is meeting the needs of the communities it serves.”
