CAR DAMAGED: Thieves stole a Garmin sat nav and a De Walt torch from a blue Peugeot 306 was broken into whilst parked on Hillside, Coundon, between 8.30pm on Saturday, February 14 and 8.30am on Sunday, February 16. Witnesses are asked to call PC John Turnbull on 101.

ART TIME: A print workshop will be held at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Thursday, March 20, from 10.15am and 12.15pm and between 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Admission is £6 and must be booked in advance by calling 03000-269524.

CIVIC DINNER: Mayor of Chilton, Councillor Elizabeth Bruce will hold a civic dinner at Chilton and Windlestone Workingmen’s Club, on Thursday, April 17, at 7pm. HISTORY TALK: Retired geography teacher Michael Rudd will give a talk on “Visitors to Teesdale through the Centuries” at Tudhoe and Spennymoor Local History Society at St David’s Church Hall, Tudhoe, on Friday, February 24, at 7.30pm. Visitors and new members welcome.

CINEMA CLUB: The Upper Weardale Cinema Club will show Justin (U) at 6pm and Sunshine on Leith (PG) at 8pm on Friday, February 21, at Upper Weardale Town Hall in St John’s Chapel. Annual membership costs £2 with each film costing £2 for adults and £1.50 for children.
