A SOCIAL dance will be held at Trimdon Station Community Centre from 7.30pm to 10.30pm on Saturday, March 1. Entry is £2 per person and refreshments will be available to buy. For more information, contact 01429-882200.

DOG WARNING: Neighbourhood Wardens from Durham County Council will be patrolling Fishburn following complaints about dog fouling in the village. The wardens will issue fixed penalty notices to any dog owners that fail to clean up after their pet. Anyone with information about those responsible should contact 03000-260000.

CANCER SUPPORT: A friendly cancer support group will meet at Neville Parade Methodist Church, in Newton Aycliffe, from 6pm to 7.30pm on Thursday, March 6. A Macmillan Cancer Support welfare rights officer will be present. For details, call Allison White on 07762-258696.

POLICE APPEAL: Between 1.30pm on Saturday, February 22, and 8.45am on Monday, February 24, an attempt was made to break into Carver Estate Agents on Dalton Way in Newton Aycliffe. Four windows were smashed and an unsuccessful attempt was made to unscrew the bar from the window. Anyone with information is asked to contact Newton Aycliffe Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
