FOUR BAILED: Three men from Darlington and one from Staindrop have been arrested and questioned by police over the alleged theft of a black and silver Mitsubishi L200, which was reported missing from a farm at Forest-in-Teesdale. All four have been released on police bail and inquiries are continuing.

DIESEL STOLEN: Fifty gallons of diesel was stolen from a fuel tank on a farm at Cleatlam, near Barnard Castle, sometime overnight between Tuesday, February 25 and the following morning. The thieves filled ten five-gallon drums belonging to the farm to ship the fuel. Anyone with information should contact Barnard Castle police on 101.

GET MESSY: Etherley Churches Together has organised a Messy Church session at the Methodist Chapel, High Etherley, at 3.25pm on Tuesday, March 11. All children are welcome and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The theme will be Gethsemane, in preparation for Easter. Arts and crafts will be followed by a meal.

ART EVENING: A Meet the Artists evening has been organised at The Witham, Horsemarket, Barnard Castle, on Thursday, March 6, between 6pm and 9pm. There will be a chance to meet the 11 artists whose work is currently on show at The Witham.

LANDSCAPE WORK: An exhibition of pictures by landscape photographer Joe Cornish will be unveiled on Saturday, March 2, at The NeST Gallery, Newgate, Barnard Castle. It takes place from 2pm to 4pm.

SPORTSMAN'S NIGHT: Former England international footballer Steve Hodge will speak at a fundraising event organised by Etherley Junior Cricket Club on Friday, March 21.
