SCHOOLGIRLS are staging a musical production at Durham’s main theatre.
Pupils from Durham High School for Girls are starring in The King and I at the Gala Theatre.
Children from year three up to sixth form are involved.
There are performances at 7.30pm tonight (Thursday, March 6), tomorrow and Saturday, plus a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.
The King and I is a musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein and is based on the novel Anna and the King of Siam, itself derived from the memoirs of Anna Leonowens, governess to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s.
Tickets are £15 for adults, £10 for concessions.
