A THEATRE group prepared for a forthcoming trip with a Jamaican-themed show in front of a packed audience.

More than 70 members of the Bishop Auckland Theatre Hooligans (BATH) at King James I Academy showcased 20 different contemporary and Jamaican-inspired dances.

The group will head to Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Friday, April 4 for its 8th Jamaica Difference visit to work with schools and community projects.

BATH thanked Children in Need for funding which has been used for projects and to help boost membership. There was also praise for Victoria Lane Academy, in Coundon, and Bishop Auckland Methodist Church for their support.

The evening culminated in a performance by Liam Gill and Tyler Thompson, who first brought Jamaican dance to the group after they visited Montego Bay as part of the project.
