IRISH NIGHT: St Catherine's Community Centre, Crook, is holding an Irish night on Saturday, March 15, 7.30pm to 11pm, with live entertainment and traditional food. Please bring own drinks but tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available. Tickets cost £8, which must be purchased in advance from the centre or on 01388-765182.

OPEN MEETING: An open meeting of Howden-le-Wear Community Partnership Association will be held in the community centre on Monday March 24 at 7pm. All villagers are welcome to attend to express their views and receive an update on developments.

SURGERY: Councillor Eddie Murphy is holding a surgery in Howden-le-Wear Community Centre on Friday, March 14, 10am to noon.

CONCERT: The North-East Theatre Organ Association, based at the new Victoria Centre, Howden-le-Wear, present a silent film accompanied by Nigel Ogden on the Wurlitzer organ on Saturday, March 15, at 7pm. On Sunday, March 16, there is a concert with Mr Ogden at 7pm. Tickets for both events cost £7 from David Kirkbride on 01388-762467.
