ARCHAEOLOGY LECTURE: Expert Prof Audrey Horning, from Queen’s University in Belfast, will deliver a lecture entitled "Ireland in the Virginia Sea: comparative archaeologies of the early modern Atlantic world" on Saturday (March 15). The lecture, presented by The Architectural and Archaeological Society of Durham and Northumberland, takes place in Room 140 of the Elvet Riverside building in New Elvet, Durham at 2.30pm.

COMMUNITY MEETING: The next meeting of the Garden Farm West Lane Community Association will take place in the Garden Farm Hotel, in Carlingford Road, in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday, March 19 at 7.30pm. The meeting will incorporate a police Pact report update.
