THE work of women artists from the North-East and Scotland is being exhibited at a Chester-le-Street arts hub.

WillyNillie, based in a former greengrocer’s shop, will host the display, which marks International Women’s Day.

It will include photography, ceramics, glass work, prints and paintings by artists Tracey Barnes, Val Brennan, Deanna Linfoot, Sharon Gollan, Miranda Petersen, Maureen Wells, Karen Sikora, Kay Henderson, Anne Proctor and Nancy McKenzie.

The preview is on Friday (March 14) from 7pm to 9pm. The artwork will be for sale, along with a selection of cards, prints, ceramics and hand crafted gifts produced by the artists.

WillyNillie co-founder and director Miranda Petersen said: "We're really proud to be able to showcase our first exhibition at WillyNillie in celebration of International Women's Day 2014.

“Everyone is welcome to join us on 14th March for the preview. It'll be a great opportunity to meet some of our artists, and unwind with a glass of wine whilst viewing the show.

“As our Community Interest Company opened in July last year, we hope this will be one of many celebrations for International Women's Day to come."

The exhibition will continue until Saturday, April 12. WillyNillie is at 156b Front Street, Chester-le-Street. Call 0191-3880010 for opening times.
