A MAN has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries after a man was found unconscious on the road outside the Miners Arms pub, in Coundon, Bishop Auckland at about 3.20am on Sunday, March 2.

The victim was taken to hospital with head injuries but has since been released.

Witnesses are asked to call DC Neil Prentice, of Bishop Auckland serious crime team, on 10325-742311.

REFEREE TALK: Former FIFA and Premier League referee Keith Hackett will be the guest speaker at the Bishop Auckland Referees’ Association on Thursday, March 20. Mr Hackett took charge of the 1981 FA Cup Final and officiated in the 1988 European Championships and the 1988 Olympics. He was also included in the list of referees to referee in the inaugural Premier League season. The talk will take place at Bishop Auckland Football Club. Admission is free.
