CHOCOLATE lovers are invited to a sweet-toothed event on Saturday.

A Thornton’s chocolate event takes place in Newsham village hall, on Saturday, at 10.30am.

Visitors can taste the chocolates and buy sweet treats and Easter eggs.

Entry is £1, including tea and coffee.

CEILIDH NIGHT: A ceilidh with Compass Rose, to mark St Patrick’s Day, takes place in Mickleton village hall, on Saturday, from 7.30pm to 11pm. Tickets cost £8, including an Irish-themed supper. To book, call 01833-640886 or visit Mickleton service station.

DANCE EVENT: There will be a dance with the Kirkcowan Sound, at Hamsterley village hall, on Saturday, from 8pm to midnight. Guests should bring their own food and drinks. Tea and biscuits will be served.

FOR CHILDREN: The Ripstop Theatre presents Sally and the Sunflower at The Witham, on Wednesday, March 19, at 11am. The performance uses puppets to tell a version of Jack and the Beanstalk.
