STAFF and students are preparing to battle it out in a Strictly Come Dancing-style competition in aid of charity.

Strictly St John’s has taken place at St John’s School and Sixth Form College, Bishop Auckland, for the last three years.

The event will see the couples compete for the glitter ball in the same way as the BBC1 talent show.

It will take place on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28, from 7pm to 10.30pm. Tickets are £10 and £7 for under-18s and pensioners.

Funds raised will go to towards the school’s Project Peru charity. Thousands of pounds have been generated from the event in previous years, which helped build a classroom in the South American country.

For more details call the school on 01388-603307.
