A DURHAM student has won a national business competition.
Shaun Campbell, a business student at New College Durham, won Marks and Spencer’s Big (Business Involvement Group) Idea contest to promote the retail giant’s website.
The 18-year-old from Newton Hall, Durham, who works part-time for M&S, said: “My idea involved using store employees to promote m&s.com to customers with iPads, producing an online discount code for customers who made a purchase in-store, an in-store m&s.com awareness week and incentives for customers recommending the website to their friends.
“I was so pleased to win.”
Mr Campbell beat off competition from 2,200 other entrants and won an iPad mini and a visit to M&S’ London head office.
He hopes to study business management at university.
