A COMMUNITY building in Pemberton Road, Blackhill, Consett, County Durham, was severely damaged in a blaze early this morning.
A spokesman for the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue services said two appliances attended a fire at the building at 3.10am. The roof of the brick-built community building, measuring 20m by 10m, was severely damaged by the fire. Two hosereels and two extension ladders were used while extinguishing the flames. The cause of the fire is not known.
