A COUPLE who inspired a church community to raise more than £14,000 for a Ghanaian school are looking to share their experiences with Darlington residents.

Clive and Pauline Beecham encouraged the Cockerton Church congregation to support the Grace Project School in Ho, Ghana, after seeing first-hand how desperate the villagers were for a proper school building.

Thanks to the Beechams’ and Cockerton Church members’ fundraising efforts, over £14,000 was raised in one year to help build classrooms and provide equipment for the school.

Mr and Mrs Beecham have recently returned from a trip to Ho where they also saw the installation of a water tank at the school and they wished to thank the Darlington community for their contributions to the project.

Although the school is no longer Cockerton Church’s mission project, Mr and Mrs Beecham are still enthused by their visits and are happy to give talks and presentations to local groups or schools.

They can be contacted on 01325-462196.
