POLICE are appealing for help after a village was hit by three burglaries in the space of just three days.

The raids happened in Helperby, North Yorkshire, between Tuesday, March 11, and Thursday, March 13, at houses on Tofts Lane and Dunroyal.

The thieves stole jewellery, including a gold brooch, a gold chain with a cross pendant as well as gold and diamond set rings. A Toshiba laptop computer was also taken.

Detective Constable Gary SmithOwen said: “If you noticed any unusual people or suspicious vehicles in Helperby around the time of the burglaries I ask you to contact the police straight away.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered the stolen items and ask them to get in touch as soon as possible.”
