YOUNGSTERS are being invited to play a crucial role in an upcoming celebration of the world of the tractor.

The organisers of Tractor Fest 2014, to be staged at Newby Hall, near Ripon, are inviting children to submit designs for a bright and colourful logo for this year’s event.

The Tractor Fest, now in its ninth year, is organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association and attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors over two days.

This year’s fest is on June 7 and 8 and will showcase hundreds of tractors, cars, lorries, stationary engines and motorcycles.

And back by popular demand will be the March of the Tractors – a parade of tractors from Newby Hall to Ripon’s historic market square on June 7, from 5pm to 6pm.

The competition is open to all primary schools across North Yorkshire. Logos must measure no more than a side of A4 paper and feature the words Tractor Fest 2014.

All entries should be emailed to sales@newbyhall.com. The competition deadline is April 18 and the prize is a family trip to the extravaganza.
