THE lights in the Town Clock, in Darlington town centre, will be switched off from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, on Saturday, March 29, in support of Earth Hour, which aims to focus attention on the planet and the need to protect it.
Last year, more than tne million people took part in the UK, including 3,500 schools and hundreds of landmarks including Big Ben and the London Eye.
PAMPER NIGHT: Sadberge Pre-School is holding a shopping and pamper evening at Sadberge Village Hall, on Friday, March 28, from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available by calling 07711-965-512.
BAND CHANGE: The Red Stripe Band has been booked to replace the Keith Little Band for a performance for Darlington New Orleans Jazz Club, on April 5. The show will be held at St Augustine’s Parish Centre, in Larchfield Street, at 12.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be bought at the door.
