Session for babies and toddlers launched in Aldbrough St John

A NEW session for babies and pre-school children has started in Aldbrough St John.

Richmond Children’s Centre has launched a stay and play session, in the village hall, on Tuesdays, from 1.30pm to 3pm.

It will run weekly during term time.

CHURCH CONCERT: The Barnard Castle Christian Fellowship presents country singer-songwriter Michael Harcus at the United Reform Church, Hall Street, Barnard Castle, on Monday, March 31, from 7.30pm to 9pm. Free entry. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

SLIDE SHOW: Barnard Castle Ramblers are inviting people to a slide show, by Dave Williams, detailing his journey around New Zealand. The event takes place at Barnard Castle Methodist church, on Wednesday, April 2, at 7.30pm. Entry is £3. Visitors are advised to use the main front door, rather than the side door. CHARITY SHOW: A fundraising fashion show, in aid of the Newsham village hall refurbishment fund, takes place at M & Co, in Barnard Castle, on Friday, April 4, at 6.30pm. Entry is £2. ROBBIE WILLIAMS: A Robbie Williams tribute act performs in Butterknowle village hall, on Saturday. The event runs from 6.30pm to midnight. For tickets, call 01388-718005.

OPEN MIC: An open mic night takes place in Butterknowle village hall, on Sunday, from 7.30pm to 11pm. All genres of music and performers are welcome. Free entry.

DRAMA GROUP: Gainford Drama Club presents Three One Act Plays, at the Academy Theatre, in Gainford, on four consecutive nights from Wednesday, April 2 to Saturday, April 5, at 7.30pm.

NEARLY NEW SALE: St Osmunds Pre-School, in Gainford, is holding a nearly new sale of baby and children’s goods on Saturday, April 5, from 2pm to 5pm. Activities include Easter crafts for children, which cost 50p, quizzes and afternoon tea, for £2.50. Entry is £1 for adults and free for children.

MADAGASCAR TALK: An illustrated talk entitled Are There Giraffes in Madagascar take place in Hutton Magna village hall, on Friday, April 4, at 7.30pm. Entry is £5, including light refreshments. Proceeds go to St Mary’s Church. For information, call 01833-627446.

CHURCH MEETING: The Parochial church, in Winston, holds its AGM in the village hall, on Tuesday, April 1, at 7.30pm.

CAR BOOT SALE: There will be a car boot sale on the playing fields, in Winston, on Sunday, April 13, from 9am to 11.30am. Entry for sellers costs £6 for cars and £8 for vans and opens at 8.30am.
