A TOWN’S county council customer office is to close for one day for essential maintenance.
Durham County Council’s Customer Access Point (CAP) in Consett will be closed on Wednesday (April 2) to enable Northern Powergrid to carry out the required work at the Front Street premises.
Urgent inquiries can be directed to the council’s customer services section, on (03000) 260000, or, alternatively, members of the public can visit the CAP, in Front Street, Stanley, on Wednesday.
The council’s customer relations manager, Mary Readman, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience, but have no alternative as this is vital work.
“It is only one day and we’ll be open as usual the following day, Thursday April 3.”
The office is open to the public from 8.30am - 5pm between Monday and Thursday, and to 4.30pm on Friday.
