A competition has been launched to help sell tickets to an Easter Feast charity dinner and dance at the Bannatyne Hotel on April 18.

Many of the £35 tickets have already been sold, but organisers would like to sell even more to raise funds for Diabetes UK and Darlington’s 700 Club so they have challenged the public to see who can sell the most.

The biggest seller will win a 30 minute back, neck and shoulder massage at Beau Visage and a bottle of Prosecco.

CAT HOME: Sadberge Boarding Kennels and Cattery is holding an open day on Sunday (April 6).

The cattery currently has around 20 cats of various ages and colours available for rehoming and all are welcome to go along and have a look around.

The event will run between noon and 5pm at the venue on Middleton Road.

TRAIN LINE: Visitors to the Centre for Local Studies at Crown Street Library can find out more about the Croft Depot Branch Line throughout this month.

The line was in existence from 1829 to 1964 and the display has been compiled by the North Eastern Railway Association (NERA) and will certainly appeal to all railway enthusiasts.
