ENTRIES are being sought for an old fashion Easter game where opponents try to break challenger’s eggs by bashing them.

An egg jarping competition is being held at the Ferryhill Community Hub.

The game involves challengers tap hard boiled eggs together. The aim is to crack the other egg without breaking your own.

The Ferryhill Community Partnership has joined with the Ferryhill Amateur Jarping Association to run the event.

It is on Sunday, April 20, in the Community Hub’s bar at 8pm. Only hard boiled hen’s eggs are allowed and entry is 50p per egg.

Funds raised by the competition will go to the Butterwick Hospice, in Bishop Auckland.

There is also an Easter egg competition for traditional paste eggs and decorated eggs which are painted or dressed.

Entries must be in place by 10am on Saturday, April 19, with entry 50p per egg.
