VEHICLES DAMAGED: Motorists are being warned after several vehicles were damaged in Ferryhill. Wing mirrors, lights and windows have been smashed on parked cars. Ferryhill police is urging residents to report anyone acting suspiciously. A man has been arrested and charged with criminal damage and he will appear in court at a date to be set. A second man is on police bail until Saturday (April 5) while police enquiries continue. MUSIC FESTIVAL: The organiser of a family music festival to help Kay’s Hill Animal Sanctuary, at West Auckland, is seeking musical acts to take part. Paul Robinson is holding the event at Chilton Working Men’s Club on Sunday, June 1, between 1pm and 6pm. A number of musical acts are already lined up but there is still space for others. Face painters, balloon modellers, stallholders and children’s rides operators are also being sought. Anyone who can help should contact Mr Robinson on 07432-510400.

FLOWER CLUB: Shildon and District Flower Club are to hear a talk by area demonstrator Lynda Fraser, of Cumbria, entitled Spellbound. It is at 7.30pm on Monday, April 7, with entry free to club members and £5 to visitors.
