CHURCH leaders hope parishioners will be inspired by the BAFTA award winning television cook show The Great British Bake Off when it hosts its own event this weekend.
St David’s Church, in Tudhoe, near Spennymoor, will host The Great Tudhoe Bake Off as part of its spring coffee morning this Saturday, April 5.
There will be three categories in the baking contest- Victoria sandwich cake with jam filling and no decoration, shortbread biscuits and savoury scones.
A separate section will be held for children to submit three decorated cup cakes.
Entries need to be in by 10am and cost £1 or 50p for children.
The event will be at St David’s Church Hall, on Tudhoe Lane, from 10am to 12.30pm, and will also include a cake stall, tombola and raffle.
