A HIT show from last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival is coming to the North-East.

Mike Wozniak, star of Channel 4's Man Down, will bring his show Take the Hit to The Witham, Barnard Castle, when he headlines the town's Funny Way To Be Comedy Club on Saturday, April 26.

Promoter Peter Dixon said: “Mike’s show was one of the very best at last year’s Edinburgh Festival.

“As he’s doing a short 12 date tour, I was thrilled when he asked to come to Barnard Castle.”

Take The Hit centres on Mike’s personal life, which has not exactly gone according to plan.

Support on the night comes from stand-up Nish Kumar, who travels to Teesdale on the back of his Best Show nomination at the 2013 Leicester Comedy Festival.

Mr Dixon added: “I met Nish when he performed at last year’s Leicester Comedy Festival and we’ve been trying to find a date in his busy diary since then.

“To include him in this show makes it a real double-header of top comedy talent.”

Tickets for Mike Wozniak: Take The Hit are available from funnywaytobe.com priced £8.
