WITH the Easter holidays under way, a Darlington school is offering youngsters the chance to stay active and free from boredom.

Hummersknott Academy’s sports weeks feature fully-qualified sports coaches passing on their expertise to budding sportsmen and women, through a host of activities ranging from swimming and water polo to football and dodgeball.

The clubs are open to youngsters aged from four to 14, with the Easter sports week, featuring three sporting activities a day throughout the two-week break.

The school will be offering further holiday clubs during the May bank holiday and summer holidays.

The events have become a regular fixture at Hummersknott following the 2012 Olympics in London, giving children the perfect opportunity to learn and play new sports and activities.

Stephen Cheeseman, active manager at Hummersknott Academy, said: “Our Holiday sports weeks provide youngsters with the ideal opportunity to socialise with friends and meet new people, as well as learn new sports.

“They also give parents peace of mind that their children will be in a supervised environment, while they are at work during the school holidays.

Easter sports are taking place at the school until April 11 and again from April 14 to 17, lasting from 10am to 4pm.

Admission costs £10 per day, or £40 for the first week and £35 for the second.
