A STREET collection has raised £1,842.04 for Marie Curie. Twenty volunteers took part in the collection in Durham City on Saturday, March 22, supported by Pittington Brass Band. The money raised will pay for 92 hours of Marie Curie nursing care for people with terminal illnesses in their own home. Organisers thanked everyone who supported the event.

PLAN WITHDRAWN: A planning application for the partial demolition of a former cinema at The Avenue, Coxhoe, near Durham, and the construction of five dwellings has been withdrawn.
