SUPERMARKET staff helped spruce up their neighbourhood by taking part in a litter pick.
The team at Sainsbury’s in Sedgefield rolled up their sleeves and joined other volunteers for Durham County Council’s Big Spring Clean Up on Monday, April 7.
The group began at the store on Salters Lane and covered areas around Sedgefield Community Hospital and Winterton Close.
All of the litter was brought back to the supermarket, where it was compacted and split into material groups to ensure the correct recycling process could occur.
Victoria Tiffin, of Sainsbury’s, said: “Sainsbury's in Sedgefield aims to help the environment as much as possible.
“We are very proud to be part of Durham County Council's Big Spring Clean Up 2014.”
