Ramblers' coastal walk

Durham Rambling Club will do two walks on the Northumberland coast – nine miles from Craster to Seahouses and from Boulmer to Seahouses – on Sunday (April 20). Advice session: The Greater Durham Citizens Advice Bureau will hold an outreach advice session on Thursday (April 17) in the Community Hall at Brandon between 11am and noon. No appointment is needed.
Pub gig: Popular rock covers band FM will be playing at The Big Jug, Claypath, Durham, on Friday (April 18), The gig starts at 9pm and admission is free. For details call 0191-384 8354.
Extension plan: Durham County Council planners are being asked to grant planning permission for pitched roof extensions to be built at the side and the front of a house in Elsdon Road, Newton Hall, Durham.
Archive introduction: A 90-minute introduction to the county archives and local and family history will be held at the County Records Office in County Hall, Durham, on Thursday, April 24 at 6pm. The cost is £4.
