A DARLINGTON nightclub that has played host to some of the biggest DJs in the industry will celebrate its seventh anniversary with a weekend of events.

Inside Out, in Beaumont Street, will highlight young talent in Darlington during the Easter bank holiday and will also welcome funk and soul DJ, and Coronation Street actor, Craig Charles.

Inside Out and its sister bar, Seen, have welcomed bands and DJs as diverse as The Futureheads and Maximo Park, Pete Docherty and house DJs Santé, Omar S, Moodymann and Motor City Drum Ensemble over the last seven years.

The club has also worked with Hilarity Bites to bring high profile comedians including John Bishop, Sarah Milican, Alun Cochrane, Rhod Gilbert, Russell Kane and Reginald D. Hunter to Darlington.

Stephen Piper, manager at Inside Out, said: “After seven years of trading there seems to be no slowing down, lack of passion or motivation at Inside Out.

“Palma Violets have announced they will play in May, WERK celebrates its second birthday with Inside Out and VIVa Warriors are due to play a label showcase in June. All in all the future is looking bright for Inside Out and Darlington as a whole.”

Craig Charles will play at Inside Out on Thursday, April 17. Doors open at 9pm. Advance tickets are £6.

Young, local bands and DJs – some of which will be playing their first public gig – will perform at Seen in the Easter All-Dayer on Easter Sunday.
