A CHOIR will remember the First World War at its spring concert.
The Gainford Singers will perform In Memoriam at St Mary's Church, in the village, on Sunday, April 27.
The performance will feature John Rutter’s Requiem, a work the composer wrote in 1985 in memory of his father who died the previous year.
There will also be pieces by Mozart, Henry Purcell and Cesar Frank. Soprano solos will be sung by Darlington-based Nikki Lycett-Findlay.
The choir will also acknowledge war poet Wilfred Owen, who died in the conflict one week before the end of the war.
The concert will start at 7.30pm and admission is £6, including refreshments. For further information call 01325-730498.
