CHILDREN at a nursery near Darlington have been getting creative to take part in an Easter bonnet making competition.
The youngsters at High Bank Nursery in Stapleton were given the task of making the festive headwear ahead of an Easter bonnet parade.
The children, from young babies to pre-schoolers, had their creations judged, with Easter eggs awarded to the winners.
Jennifer Thompson, manager of High Bank Nursery, said: “We had some fantastic bonnets made this year and the parade took place in bright spring sunshine, so it couldn’t have been any better.
“The time they, and their parents, put into the bonnets was evident and it was very hard to judge the winners, but every child in the nursery has received a small egg to celebrate Easter.”
