A CIVIC dinner raised well over £1,000 for a mayor’s charity appeal.
The Mayor of Ferryhill Coun Ken Campbell hosted the event at The Masonic Hall, in Ferryhill, on Friday, April 11.
It was enjoyed by civic guests from across County Durham along with local councillors, community representatives, family and friends.
Coun Campbell said: “The night was a great success and raised £1,600 for my chosen charities.
“I hope everyone had a great evening and special thanks go to those who have supported me in my mayoral year, including local businesses, family and friends, fellow councillors and staff who donated prizes for the raffle and tombola, and all those who helped out on the evening.”
He paid particular tribute to staff at the venue, entertainer Robson Field and photographer Eddie Serrell.
The money will be donated to Ferryhill Town Band and St Luke’s youth groups.
