A CHARITY which helps vulnerable people at risk of homelessness has held a Britain’s Got Talent-style contest.
Affordable housing provider Home Group held the event recently for clients of its Darlington and Dales Homestay service at Shildon Civic Hall.
The service is run by Stonham, the care and support division of Home Group, which helps people to acquire the skills to live independently.
Joanne Degnan-Hall, Home Group client services manager, said: “Our services helps people who live in their own homes but who may struggle to cope with the demands of running a house.
“They may need help with skills such as budgeting, paying bills or cooking healthy meals. They’re not only vulnerable but many of them can become isolated.
“We decided to hold this event to give them a chance to express themselves, improve their confidence and also have a chance to widen their social circle.”
