PUPILS were “knighted” in a special ceremony at a Bishop Auckland castle.
Year One children from Escomb Primary School visited Auckland Castle today (Tuesday, April 22) to mark the end of a project looking at Knights and castles.
The mayor of Bishop Auckland, Councillor David Fleming knighted the 29-strong group in front of their parents in the castle chapel.
Year One teacher Pauline Robinson said: “This visit marks the end of the topic. It has been a fantastic day and they have really enjoyed it.”
