New attractions at Himalayan gardens near Ripon
CHAINSAW carvings created by college students are some of the new attractions at a garden attraction which has just reopened.
The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park, near Ripon, reopened for the season on Friday, April 18.
Some of the new attractions include carvings created by first year students studying forestry and arboriculture at Askham Bryan College in York.
The gardens have one of the North’s largest collections of rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias, with new species continually being added.
It has more than 500 different species of rhododendron and more than 1,000 different hybrid rhododendrons, along with a permanent exhibition of 60 sculptures.
