A PENSIONER has been reunited with her garden gnome as police uncovered a haul of items stolen from Darlington gardens.
The 87-year-old, who lives in the Whinfield area of town, was said to be “absolutely delighted” when PC Kathryn Pudney personally returned her gnome.
The ornament was one of several garden ornaments recovered by police after they searched a suspect’s house earlier this month.
The police have posted photogrpahs of the other items online and are inviting Darlington residents who have had garden ornaments and pots stolen recently to look at them and contact officers if they can identify them as theirs.
The photographs can be seen on the Darlington Neighbourhood Police Teams facebook page and on Twitter - @darlo_police.
