A SERIES of events are taking place across Darlington next month to mark Dementia Awareness Week.
The initiative is part of the Alzheimer’s Society’s drive to increase public awareness of the disease and is being supported by the charity’s Darlington branch.
On May 19 there will be a Dementia Friends information session at West Park Hospital from 1pm to 2.30pm, followed by a session at St Herbert’s Church, Yarm Road, on May 20 from 10am to noon.
The Cockerton Prize Silver Band will perform a fundraising concert at the Cockerton Band and Musical Institute, Woodland Road, on the evening of May 21 and a Singing for the Brain event will take place in St Cuthbert’s Church hall from 2pm to 3pm on May 23.
