A PARTY will honour a late dance legend.
Lindy Jazz is throwing a Harlem Comes to Durham party in honour of Frankie Manning, an American dancer, instructor, choreographer and founding father of Lindy Hop, who died in April 2009, aged 94.
Many events will be held at the end of May to celebrate his life, focused on New York, USA.
But Durham will be playing its part, with the party being staged at Alington House Community Centre, 4 North Bailey, Durham, on Sunday, May 25.
There will be live music from Strictly Speakeasy, plus DJs Andy and Gillian.
The event is expected to attract dancers from across the region.
It will run from 7.30pm to 2.30am. Tickets are priced £8 if booked before Saturday (May 3), £10 if booked between May 3 and 17 and £12 after May 17.
