SHOPPERS will be serenaded by musicians this weekend as a free music festival returns to the streets of a North-East town.
The Buskers in Blackwellgate event, organised by Darlignton business owner Beryl Hankin, will see the Darlington street transformed into a hub of musical activity on Sunday (May 4).
A host of local musicians, including Ken Bainbridge, Gary Grainger and Willow Creek, will perform free throughout the day, with performances starting at 11am.
The event will run alongside the monthly Darlington Sunday People’s Market, which takes places on Blackwellgate and West Row from 11am to 4pm.
As well as stalls from local traders, Tommy Bungle the clown will perform at the market cross at noon, 1.30pm and 3pm.
